What is the myHealth portal?

myHealth is a secure, confidential, and easy-to-use web-based portal that provides patients 24-hour access to selected medical information from their electronic health record. You will be able to view a summary of care showing information regarding your inpatient and emergency care at the hospital. Billing information is not included.

Who is eligible for myHealth?

myHealth is available for patients who are 18 years or older who have an electronic medical record at an HHSC hospital where myHealth has been implemented. myHealth may also be available to legal representatives, guardians and other authorized persons who may act as your health care proxy/proxies.  Specific terms and conditions apply.

What are the minimum system requirements to use the Patient Portal?

The Patient Portal solution is web based. To enjoy the full benefit of our portal, we suggest using a recent model computer and operating system, a high resolution monitor, a high speed internet connection running a modern web browser. What device is compatible with the Patient Portal?

Currently, only computers and laptops meeting the minimum system requirements can access the Patient Portal.

Are smartphones, tablets and Apple devices such as iPad or iPhone compatible with the Patient Portal?

No.   At this time, viewing results on the Patient Portal requires a computer or laptop meeting the minimum system requirements. Some tablets & smartphones may be able to access it, however not all are supported on our current version.

Is myHealth the same as the Patient Portal I use at my doctor’s office?

No, many physician offices have their own patient portals that require a separate log-in and password.

Why should I use myHealth?

You will be able to access information about your emergency and inpatient visit online in the convenience of your home.  You will have the ability to view, download, or transmit this information to other providers on your care team at your fingertips.

Do I have to participate in myHealth?

No, participation is voluntary. If you choose to participate, you will have online access to your visit information.

Is my information secure?

Yes, you can rest assured that our portal meets the Federal requirements established under the HIPAA Privacy and Security rules. You can read more about these security standards here.

Patient Portal passwords are encrypted and URLs are re-written so that they cannot be copied and pasted. Only you and those you authorize can access your Patient Portal.

If you leave the Patient Portal page open, a timeout feature protects your information.

Your health information can only be viewed by someone who has the certificates and authority to do so.

Signing Up

What do I need to sign up for the portal?

To sign up, you must have a valid email address, and mailing address..

A note about Email Confidentiality: If you provide us with an email address that you share with others, they may access myHealth emails that are meant for you. If you do not want this to happen, we recommend that you give us an email address that only you can access.

How can I sign up for the myHealth Patient Portal?

All you need is an internet connection and your validation code.  By providing us your email address during your visit, you will automatically be enrolled in the portal.   The use of the myHealth Patient Portal is completely voluntary and FREE.

How long do I have to wait to see this information through the myHealth Patient Portal?

In most cases, your final summary of care information will be available in myHealth within 36 hours after discharge.

Using the Portal

How do I change my password?

To change your password, click the “Change Password” link on the myHealth Home page. This link is located on the navigation bar at the top of the page. You will be prompted to enter your old password, and to confirm your new password by typing it twice. Your new password will be set when you click OK.

How do I change my address/phone number/email address?

To update your personal information, click the “Profile” link on the left side of the myHealth Home page. This will bring up your User Information page. Click the “Edit User” button at the bottom of this page, and you will be able to change your date of birth, address, phone numbers, and email address. It is important to note that this information will not be automatically changed in Health System records but it will be updated for any future correspondences within the myHealth Patient Portal.

How do I log into the portal as a returning user?

Returning users should access the portal at myhealth.hhsc.org or by clicking on the myHealth link on the HHSC Home Page or the home page of this particular facility.
