JOB LOCATION:  Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii

FUNCTION:  This position is located in the Nutritional Services Department of the Kauai Region, which includes both Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH) and Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH). This position is Regional, therefore position maybe required to travel between facilities if needed. Kauai Region is part of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC), a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawaii.

The Hospital Executive Chef directs the culinary program for HHSC Kauai Region for retail and patient room service. This position plans, directs, and evaluates the purchase, production, presentation, and pricing programs. The Hospital Executive Chef is expected to develop and implement quality plans for each program.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements.  Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience are credited based on a 40-hour workweek.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Degree in Culinary Arts Certificate of completion from an accredited culinary trade school (2-4 year program), or program or similar advanced culinary curriculum.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience as a chef or culinary management experience.

CERTIFICATION: ServSafe certification acquired within six (6) months of hire date.
