POSITION TITLE: Radiology Services Physician

STATUS:  Exempt | Full-Time (1.0 FTE)

SALARY: Negotiable

LOCATION:  These are regional positions located under the Kaua’i Region Medical Group (KRMG), a 501c3 tax-exempt organization of which the Hawai’i Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) Kaua’i Region is its sole member. HHSC Kaua’i Region includes Kaua’i Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH), Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (SMMH), and the Kaua’i Region Clinics, which consists of The Clinic at Waimea, The Clinic at Port Allen, The Clinic at Kalāheo, The Specialty Clinic at Kalāheo, Urgent Care at Po’ipū, The Clinic at Līhu’e, and The Clinic at Kapa’a.

Summary
Under indirect supervision, provides and manages comprehensive care for a specified, patient population in either the inpatient or outpatient setting depending on specified
needs of the organization for addiction and substance related disorders, including the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of such health conditions.

Qualifications 

  • Doctorate MD or DO from an accredited medical school required
  • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty.
  • Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital;
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) registration;
  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system 
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based medicine 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Compassion, empathy and a commitment to patient-centered care 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team 
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and CME.
  • Certification: Possession of BLS and ACLS certification 
  • Licensure: Possession of a current license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
  • Medical Staff bylaws and Rules and Regulations. Physician shall also be approved for,
    and maintain throughout the term of this Agreement, Active Medical Staff membership
    and appropriate clinical privileges at the Hospital and Clinics.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments,  Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, Prescribe medication and other appropriate therapies, Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging,  Perform medical procedures and surgeries when necessary,  Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, Provide patient education 

Communication

Effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues 

Documentation 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in a timely fashion

Clinical Expertise

Stay current with latest medical research, treatments and technologies,  Participate in CME and peer review activities, Collaborate with other specialists and healthcare professionals to optimize patient care, Work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Providers,  Participate in the education of clinical learners (residents, APP students, etc.) 

Quality and Safety

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, Ensure safe care is provided to all patients

Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards of medical practice o Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy,  Comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
