- Plans to expand Telehealth visits, including both primary and specialty care.
- Kauai Region Clinics are waiving patient co-pay for Telehealth visits.
What is a Telehealth appointment?
A Telehealth visit is similar to an in-person wellness appointment with your own doctor. During the visit, you’ll talk about your current health concerns and learn what to do.
- Your visit can take place from a location that is the most convenient for you.
- Your provider will communicate with you by computer, electronic tablet or smartphone.
- Our telemedicine connection is secure and HIPAA compliant.

Will I be reminded of my appointment date/time?
After scheduling our appointment by phone, your Provider’s office will call you the day before to remind you of your upcoming Telehealth appointment.
Will I be charged for this appointment? Will I need to make a co-payment at the time of my encounter?
Yes, your insurance will be charged for this service, however, the HHSC Kauai Region will waive all co-payment fees for Telehealth provider / patient encounters.
Will my Telehealth connection with my doctor be secure?
Yes, our Telehealth platform is secure and HIPAA compliant.
Will my photo/video or voice be recorded or stored?
No, your photo/video or voice will NOT be recorded or stored.
