FUNCTION:  This position is located in the ICU Unit at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH).  The ICU unit provides age-specific nursing care services to medical patients in accordance with the physicians’ instruction.

 The Per Diem Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions. In the event there are no patients in the unit, this position may be assigned to various units within the Nursing Services and may require cross training and floating as assigned.  Position is also subject to a combination of 12 and 8-hour shifts.

The Clinic Receptionist I – Urgent Care/Walk-in at Poipu receives and interviews incoming patients or accompanying parties to obtain data required for physician and Clinic. Additionally, this position performs a variety of fiscal record keeping and clerical services for the receptionist desk and providers. Position is subject to shifts, which may include weekends, extended hours, and incumbent may be floated to any Kauai Region Clinic site as deemed necessary by Manager.
