JOB FUNCTIONS

The Medical Assistant assists the clinical licensed staff by performing a variety of tasks to ensure that necessary patient care and related technical work are provided, including any other duties assigned.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for independently performing the full range of practical nursing care and related technical work and any other duties as assigned.

These positions may frequently require intense work activity and the ability to handle many processes simultaneously while prioritizing primary functions. JOB FUNCTIONS: The Building Maintenance Worker (BMW) I perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work in the upkeep of buildings, residences, and other structures and in the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities housed in such structures, including services of light, heat, repair in order to create a pleasant and comfortable physical environment for patients, employees, medical staff, and the general public; and performs other related duties as assigned. This position is to perform the repair, maintenance, and minor construction/ renovation of the buildings and utilities at SMMH; including also repairs and maintenance of all equipment at SMMH. The BMW I reports to the BMW II, position number 58274, or its designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements.  Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience are credited based on a 40-hour workweek. Also, please see below the additional requirements according to the specific department.

Education: None required. 

Select Certification: Current, valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Experience and Training: Four (4) years of work experience in performing a variety of building maintenance repair work or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Knowledge of: Basic practices and methods in the repair of buildings, including safety procedures, common tools, equipment, and materials used in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical trades; electro-mechanical appliances used in homes and other buildings.

Ability to: Determine the need for repairs involving a variety of building trades; use hand tools utilized in a variety of building trades; read blueprints and sketches; estimate cost, time, and material needed to perform a job; make mechanical repairs to equipment and appliances that are part of a housing unit; understand and follow oral and written instructions.
